day trips for seniors
with early to moderate memory loss
ABOUT DESERT ALOHA
Desert Aloha serves seniors with early to moderate memory loss by providing stimulating activities and day trips to local places of interest. The 3-1/2 hour long trips are held on Saturdays and provide socialization and recreation for the participants while offering respite to caregivers.
Angela Salmon, Trip Leader of Desert Aloha, has been working at a local senior living community since April 2010. She is the program coordinator for a successful outreach program called Adventure Bus which provides semi-weekly indoor cultural activities and day trips to events and destinations in Tucson and the surrounding areas.
Angela identified a need for weekend outings for seniors with memory loss and much needed respite for caregivers. This need inspired her to launch Desert Aloha.
